On the Spot

The DILG or Department of Local Government announced that the distribution of cash aid or ayuda will be extended until May 15 on the 4 provinces that are under NCR Plus. This is good news for people who didn’t receive ayuda last year because this is a chance to buy products and needs for their family.
According to the statement of DILG Secretary and Spokesperson Jonathan Malaya it was approved by Eduardo M. Año, the DILG Secretary, Department of Social Welfare and Development Secretary Rolando Bautista, Department of National Defense. Malaya also said that the extension of giving ‘’ayuda’’ across all Local Government Units or LGUs in NCR-plus places like Metro Manila,Bulacan,Cavite,Laguna and Rizal will be ‘’one-time’’ only.
The Department of Interior and Local Government told the government units that they must complete the distribution of ‘’ayuda’’ in 15 days after receiving receipt or after 30 days of the assistance in-kind. DILG Secretary Malaya said that the request of local government will be allowed by 3 government agencies to make sure the safety of beneficiaries during the program.
I hope the program extension of ‘’ayuda’’ will turned out to be good because we don’t want to end up like what happen last year which involves the corruption of SAP funds. And they are people who still have no cash aid that will need to buy food, vegetables, noodles, milk or any necessities for their lives.
