The issue about the Social Amelioration Program (SAP) of Manila residents who relocated to Naic, Cavite in 2019 became a hot topic when Manila Mayor Isko "Yorme" Damogoso and Cavite Governor Jonvic Remulla exchanged words.
Due to the distributing aid to people from Manila who relocated to Naic, Cavite in 2019. Following the news that residents of Naic, Cavite who were informal settlers before in Manila, didn't receive financial assistance.
During the interview of ABS-CBN News with Manila Mayor Isko on April 22, 2021, he said that it’s a negative or a trap style for politics when local governments are not giving help to those non-voters around his area.
“Niyayakap namin dito sa Maynila kahit hindi botante. And I hope they (Naic) will do the same, Style ng trapong politiko ‘yan eh. ‘Yung botante, hindi botante. Tutal doon na sila nakatira, next time magparehistro na sila doon sa bayan na ‘yun hindi dahil para iboto ‘yung luko-loko na ‘yun (kung hindi para mabigyan ng ayuda).”, Mayor Isko stated
To all appearances, it is not a good statement to belittle Naic, Cavite. Mayor Jun Dualan for Cavite Governor Jonvic Remulla, which leads him into a fearless answer to the argument from Manila Mayor Isko through his Facebook post.
Governor Jonvic Remulla stated that there is nothing wrong with Mayor Isko's ambition to run for the President position. What Governor Remulla didn't want is for him to criticize Cavitenos just to stand out. He also stated that, even those people who relocated in Cavite are considered and treated as Caviteno. It is just that the funds from the national government for ECQ financial assistance are not enough because it is dependent on the 2015 census.
“Yorme, alam ng lahat ang ambisyon mong maging Pangulo. Wala naming isyu don. Libre mangarap ang kahit sino. Pero sana ay huwag mong tapakan ang iba para lamang umangat ka. Hindi ka pa nga Pangulo ay ang yabang mo na. Hirap na hirap na ng kami dito, kami pa ang ginawa mong rason dahil sa pagka-atat mong sumikat. Sana, pag-aralan mo muna ang suliranin bago ka magpuputak ng walang kwenta. Kung pagpapasikat lang ang gusto mo? Hindi mo kailangan mang-apak ng Caviteno,” Governor Remulla said
Meanwhile, in the last statement of Cavite Governor Jonvic Remulla about various issues spreading in Social Media, he mentions that they settled for that issue and there is no need for further arguments.
“Peace na kami ni Yorme. Hindi na kailangan ang mga parinigan. Hindi ko na rin feel na awayin pa si Parlade sa isyu ng walang kasawa-sawang red-tagging. Ayaw ko na din mag comment sa mainit na isyu ng community pantry. As usual, puro OA ang mga kaganapan,” he added.
