New MECQ guidelines adjustments in Cavite announced by Governor Jonvic Remulla.
There have been adjustments on the implementation of the Modified Enhanced Community Quarantine (MECQ) in Cavite province, as per Governor Jonvic Remulla Jr. announced in his Facebook post last April 14, 2021, Wednesday. The curfew hours have been put from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. along with other areas under the NCR plus like Metro Manila and Rizal.
Under MECQ, Retail stores are permitted to operate during mall hours, with the same mall rules. Besides, alfresco or outdoor dining will also be allowed but Remulla warned citizens from going out of their residences if it's not important.
He stated that religious activities are also allowed at 10% capacity. In weddings, baptisms, or funerals, he instructs his people to avoid conversation while eating in gatherings since this is where COVID-19 transmission often transpires. Other celebrations and group gatherings are still restricted, he declared.
He states that the effects of the two-week ECQ are felt, pointing out that new cases in the province decreased to over 180 compared to the maximum of 1,884 cases 10 days ago.
He reminded the residents to be more cautious, marking that a 40-year-old official in Commission on Elections (Comelec) Cavite office has just died, while four other government staff have died in the last five days.
“Mag-ingat ng todo. Walang bulletproof sa COVID. Kahit bata pa ay tinatamaan,” he said.
As of April 17, the Philippines has 914, 971 confirmed Covid-19 cases, including 15, 738 deaths.
