8 Cavite public hospitals temporarily not accepting new patients

By: Kate Herchelle Salamanca

Public hospitals in Cavite decided to not accept patients temporarily due to the sudden increase of Covid-19 positive health workers.

For the latest situation, escalating of active COVID-19 patients results in getting back to strict implementation of rules. Cavite is one of the NCR bubbles or NCR plus that should get back to Enhance Community Quarantine (ECQ).

After two weeks, the wave of active patients has decreased, mandated to Modified Enhance Community Quarantine (MECQ). Provincial, City Government Hospitals in Cavite are now slowly lacking workers due to the continuous widespread of infected individuals for the past week. Announcement about the situation in Hospitals is due to the sudden increase of positive health workers. There are 38 health workers recorded infected with COVID-19.

According to Cavite Governor Jonvic Remulla, they decided not to accept patients for now and will monitor until the situation calmed down. There are only a few medical workers in the Philippines, wherein local governments are also giving attention and importance to health workers.

"One week kami nag-decide, hindi muna [tatanggap ng pasyente] hangga't malaman namin ang sitwasyon" Remulla stated.

Hospitals in Dasmariñas City, Trece Martires City, Bacoor City, Kawit, Maragondon and Gen. Mariano Alvarez are those that will not accept patients in the meantime. Followed by this situation, private hospitals around Cavite are in critical condition now because of the number of individuals in need to be admitted immediately.

It is tough for citizens now to find hospitals for at least rapid medication, some patients are in line outside hospitals, waiting for them to get response and give them medical assistance, days before they get admitted.

Observing the situation today in Cavite is difficult for all front liners, as well as for citizens. That’s why Governor Remulla often reminds his fellow Cavitenos to follow the rules, stay at home.

Local Government is doing their best to improve their services, and also to widen their help to all citizens of Cavite, encouraging everyone to work together for the comfort of all.
